THE ACADEMY THAT CARES!

Students in the Academy of Health Sciences will have the opportunity to pursue their dreams of a career in the health care field by participating in a rigorous and relevant curriculum. They receive a solid foundation for work in the healthcare industry. The major themes in the curriculum are: Allied Medical Assisting, Emergency First Responder, and Nursing Assisting. Students leave their programs with Professional Certifications, having had hands-on experience while practicing skills on each other and actual patients. Theses experiences enable students to make connections between what they learn in school, their lives, and their futures.

The Health Science Academy provides students the opportunity to pursue their dreams of a career in the health care field by offering a rigorous and relevant curriculum. The major themes in the curriculum are Allied Health Medical Administrative Assisting, Nursing Assistant, First Responder (Emergency Medicine), and Electrocardiograph Technician. Students may also enroll in college dual enrollment courses and take a substantial number of advanced placement courses for potential college credit.

The Health Science Academy Staff strive to provide our students with innovative and interactive lessons that connect to the real world. We use an interactive approach to learning that gives you the opportunity to immerse yourself in the challenging complexities of the medical profession.

Our Services

Our Health Sciences Academy is a Model Distinguished National Academy Foundation Academy (NAF). NAF provides a rigorous, industry-validated career-themed curriculum that incorporates current industry standards and practices, literacy strategies, and STEM integration. NAF’s instructional practices foster cross-curriculum collaboration so students can make connections across subject areas. The NAF curricula is created in partnership with industry professionals and designed around projects that help students acquire valuable workplace skills and see their education as a step toward long-term career options.

  • HOSA
    • HOSA (HOSA) is a national career and technical student organization endorsed by the U.S.

      Department of Education. HOSA’s two-fold mission is to promote career opportunities in the health care industry and to enhance the delivery of quality health care to all people. HOSA provides a unique program of leadership development, motivation, and recognition and is a powerful instructional tool that works best when it is integrated into the HSE curriculum and classroom. HOSA lets members test their personal and leadership skills in real life and the members have the opportunity to participate and/or compete in area, state and national leadership conferences. Motivated students polish their skills and receive a sense of self accomplishment as well as recognition. With over 55 different competitive events, a student may easily find one that matches their interests and gifts.
