Academy of Engineering
The Academy of Engineering follows the nationally recognized Project Lead the Way (PLTW) curriculum, built on rigorous, project-based learning and the development of 21st-century skills. Students engage in hands-on projects that connect engineering concepts to real-world applications and workplace problem-solving.
The program introduces students to a comprehensive sequence of courses aligned with a four-year college engineering pathway, providing a strong foundation in technical knowledge, innovation, collaboration, and critical thinking. Students have the opportunity to earn industry certifications and participate in competitive organizations such as TSA and SECME, preparing them for success in both higher education and engineering careers.
Engineering Academy Program Overview
•9th Grade: Introduction to Engineering Design
•Intro to design process, applying math, science & engineering standards.
•10th Grade: Principles of Engineering
•Explore a broad range of engineering topics (mechanisms, the strength of structures, & automation).
•11th Grade: Digital Electronics
•Foundation for electrical engineering, electronics, or circuit design.
•12th grade: Engineering Design and Development
•Utilizing all skills learned the students will create culminating projects.
